![]() ![]() ![]() Disparaging comments towards the developer aren't going to help you accomplish anything. I kindly suggest you re-think your attitude on this forum. Fans want more, and eventually (hopefully) another dev may pick up on this if SCS doesn't.īeamNG is a completely different engine and isn't capable of replicating what the Prism3D engine does, nor vice versa. It's not an anomaly: it's a consistent stream of hopes and dreams that are met with more maps and trucks. In pretty much every possible place SCS fans can suggest things (this forum, SCS socials, reddit), people suggest similar things and have done so for a significant number of time. Lately all we get from ATS/ETS2 are just new roads to drive on."Īnother, who also has done recent DLC previews for SCS, said in a recent video (copied from the transcript), "I hate to say it chat but BNG just they just constantly just put other games to shame I'm not going to name any names but man do they put other games to shame." He later continued, "this update guys this update was a a long time coming I'm not naming names no no no no no we're not naming names don't name any names chat but Kansas I know chat I know Kansas was great but I'm just saying that these are the details we need okay." They just need to set up the delivery system. Beamng is so close to becoming a full on truck sim. One of them, a large youtube channel that has been gifted pre-release DLC access by SCS in the recent past just said, "Agreed. All we have are our opinions, but I am increasingly led to believe that there are a large and up to this point unheard number of SCS fans who would like to be able to do more in the game. I think it's simply that the cost of trying to make a dramatically better game than ETS2/ATS will not be offset by the returns, or will otherwise come with sacrifices that alienate even more people than the things this game lacks. But I don't think the absence of any is something that can be written off as mere incompetence. ![]() I would personally very much love to see competent competition with these games. Is it that only incompetent people bother to try? Or is it the other way around - competent people recognize how insanely difficult it is to create your wishlist game, and knowing it would probably be lucky to be only a little more successful than this one, they figure it isn't worth it? But everything that people play ATS or ETS2 for is based on other things - SCS doesn't own the LoneStar, or Kansas, or Spain, or the concept of trucking. I feel like there's a very important question here that tends to get overlooked: why does competent competition not exist? This isn't a case where the franchise is irreplaceable because the characters or the story or the worldbuilding are integral to what people like - like, no matter how bad Pokémon or Star Wars get, a competitor can never use Charizard or Darth Vader as a marketing point. Every alternative trucking game on the market has one or more massive issues, things anyone playing this type of game realistically cannot ignore. A trucking game with good graphics and physics, a large map, a variety of trucks and trailers, and interaction would instantly become a fan favorite. SCS's current success is built largely on the complete and total incompetence of their competition (if we can call it that). ![]()
